"Days go on forever,
But I haven not left your side.
We can chase the dark together,
If you go then so will I."
-Anthem Of The Angels by Breaking Benjamin

As early as dawn came they set out again. Kai had contacted them and told them to get to the village quickly. There was a thick fog rolling in and he said it would be a great opportunity to infiltrate the village.
Yes, because they're werewolves they'd be able to see or smell intruders but they won't get alarmed if there's no unknown scent and they won't look if they're not alarmed. See? Win win.
Everything has been going as planned so far.
They had been sneaking around the village for about an hour now. And true to his words there was a thick fog. So thick that if someone stood right ahead of you it would hard to be able to see them. Luckily on days like these, packs didn't allow much people out. Only betas and alphas. Children, women and omegas were not allowed to be outside.
They had seen little to no alphas and hardly any betas patrolling.
Kira sighed deeply as Chase motioned to her, putting a finger at his lips telling her to hush. She did and a familiar beta passed by. She couldn't remember his name now, nor did she care about his name, but he walked by with a bag falling off of his shoulder and a cell phone to his ear. He spoke and laughed in a language she learnt was German.
They kept quiet and waited until he was completely out of sight and werewolf earshot before they moved out again.
"So far this is one of the clearest heists I've been on." He murmured softly to himself.
"Don't speak too soon now." She teased good-heartedly... Or so she wished.
They kept on walking, never letting their guard down and things ran smoothly. They only had one more alleyway to pass through before they were into the woods again. After that it would only be to look for the tunnel back to the rest of the pack.
"Spencer please. Please! You promised!" I voice pleaded making Kira stop dead in her tracks, her blood ran cold as the faint scent reached her nostrils, barely identifiable through the thick fog. She knew that scent.
"I know Ella. I can't do it! I have to kill her!" She knew that voice. In fact, she knew that voice a little too well.
It was the same voice that made all these bad things happen to her. The ones that sometimes haunted her through the darkness off nightmares in her sleep. That same voice who rejected her. The voice that belonged to none other than Spencer Anderson.
Her wolf howled. Out of resentment or affection who knew. Yet she knew herself that she wouldn't be the kind of wolf to run straight back into his arms if he wanted her back. No, oh gods no, she would be the kind to cut off those arms.
"Ella!" So that was her name. Ella. Yes, Kira knew Ella. The name had sparked a few memories that she had not thought of at the time of her rejection and abandonment.
Ella Frisk. Her family was dead. She was a rouge with the blood of Alphas! Of course! A little girl, she was found in the woods close to death. One of the three packs that resides in the village had taken her in and licked her wounds clean for her and groomed her back to perfection. That pack happened to be the one Spencer would soon be alpha of.
So it makes sense now. The wolf in her head spat bitterly. She had been calmed down after loads of coaxing done on Kira's side.
Yes it did make sense. Be it the ultimate decision of the pack leaders or they themselves; Ella and Spencer were betrothed. Spencer would've had to reject his mate to stay with Ella. And Ella would likely need to do the same. Either as a lust for assured power or as a forced promise, that was was the way the dice was rolled. And that was the way things would play out.
But who'd he have to kill? Was the question now.
"You promised you wouldn't Spencer!" She yelled in reply. And then suddenly there was a ton of footsteps as they approached where the Angel and the Werewolf stood.
Kira felt herself being yanked back. Her back slammed into a chest and white feathers covered her vision. A hand over her mouth and an arm wrapped around just below her breasts. She nearly screamed and thrashed around but then there was a voice in her head that calmed her tense muscles immediately.
"Be quiet. They can't see us but if you make noises they will be aware of our presence." It was Chase. His voice was calming and definitely calmed her racing heart.
The pure feathers of the powerful wings parted and they watched as both werewolves continued their argument.
Spencer was as beautiful as the day he rejected Kira, which wasn't all that long ago. His eyes were darkened and his hair looked like he'd run his hand through in a little too much. His jaw clenched and his knuckles were turning white from being balled up so tightly.
"Yeah and now I promise that if you don't shut up I'll probably punch you." He hissed at her, yanking his arm away from where she had previously griped him to avoid him from walking away. She didn't even flinch, standing her ground as a stubborn blood alpha.
"Go ahead then! It's not like I can't take a hit." She countered. Kira took her time to look at the girl this time.
She, like Kira had remembered, had platinum blond hair that fell just bellow her shoulders. Honey-hazel green eyes framed with curled blonde lashes. She had sharp features, a strong jawline, high cheekbones and a sharp nose. She dressed more modestly today. A black sweater that wrapped snugly around her petit body, dark washed jeans hung low on her sharp hip bones and hugged her skinny legs. Over all she looked pretty fragile, small and tiny.
Spencer's steel blue eyes snapped up to meet the honey-Hazel ones. His already balled up fist flew swiftly through the air and connected with the sharp jawline of the petit blonde. There was a very audible crack and Kira was slightly convinced that it was probably from her snapping her head up so fast it almost gave her whiplash.
Surprisingly, the petit blonde didn't even move an inch. Her feet were planted on the ground like the foundation of a strong structure. She raised a hand that held her jaw as she flexed it and put it back into place.
"My turn." She billowed out hotly. Her voice strong and determined. She raised a fist and it sailed through the air and landed on his chest successfully again earning a couple cracks. She managed to make him stagger back a step of two.
"Damn girl. I seem to forget that you pack a mean ass punch." He mumbled out while he clutched the wounded area that would soon heal.
But what happened next surprised Kira. The smaller girl fell to the ground. Sitting on her heels as her legs rocked under her. Hair fell over her face as her shoulders shook violently.
"I've got nothing Spence. I have nothing. They killed off my pack when I was little. Alpha, beta... Down to the last damn omega. Everyone but me. And- and then you guys found and- and took care of me. I though, I finally got it back. I finally had something to live for again. I finally had a reason to wake up each bloody morning again. And then I met you. You made me so so happy Spencer. You promised we'd be together. You promised you'd mate me when I- when we got older. You promised.
"But then I saw the look on her face. She was so... So sad Spencer. When you hit her. When I said all those mean things to her. I thought I was protecting us. I thought I was protecting what we had spent so many years building. But I'm just tearing it down. Kira is you're mate. And no matter how much you despise her for being your mate. No matter how much you want her dead for making you feel- making you feel pain. You can't! Because I know you'll never look at me the way you are meant to look at her. No matter how hard you try. My mate is dead. I've known for a while now. I knew when my wolf started feeling numb about everything. I didn't care. But then you! You gave me- you gave us life! You again gave me a hope. I can't... I can't..."
She cried and sobbed out, she shook violently and Kira felt mixed emotions. She wanted to hate her but she wanted to... Not hate her.
"But I don't want her! I don't care about her like I care about you. And you say and think that I'm just saying that but it's true! I love you Ella. I've loved you from the moment we met! I wished and hoped to the gods that you'd be my mate when the time came. I promised that I would mate you and I will. Even if it's the last thing I do I will. Please don't cry. Please. Please. Please don't cry Ella." He was so gentle. He was so calm so sweet to her. He had kneeled down in front of her and held her. Running his fingers through her blonde hair and the other stoked her back lovingly.
They were so... So in love.
It made Kira want to throw up until there was nothing left to throw up and then rip her stomach out. Her wolf too was fighting the internal battle of letting the couple be happy or killing them both. It still wasn't sure.
"Don't hurt her. Please don't hurt her Spencer. She's been through so much. So much pain. I know it hurts and that's enough Spencer. Please don't hurt her." She whispered again and again while her shaking calmed a little.
"I won't." He murmured into her hair.
"Promise me you won't hurt her. Please promise me." She continued, lifting her face and looking deep into his eyes. She touched his face and cradled it in both her slim hands.
"I promise you Ella. I won't hurt Kira." He spoke aloud. A deep sigh left her and she nodded tiredly. He smiled down at her fondly and gathered her in his arms.
"C'mon. Let's go home." He spoke lovingly as he carried her away like a princess in his arms.
Oh how Kira really wanted to hate her.
__________
I think I wanna start adding notes again. Yeah? Yeah. Ok.
I'm making it really hard for myself to want to hate anyone in this book really. Don't worry there's drama brewing up ahead.
I realized I didn't name or give anything about the blonde in chapter two so I decided 'hmmm! Let's give her a name and a tragic back story.' And alas Ella was born.
But tell me! Who is your favorite character and who is your least favorite?
I know I'm not supposed to choose but my favorite is Hunter. Least favorite... Probably the main character. Kira has no texture to her yet therefore I hate her. But don't worry. As I'm telling myself I'm working on it.
Ok well that's it for this chapter.
Peace off.
