"How the hell did we end up like this?

You bring out the beast in me,

I fell in love from the moment we kissed,

Since then we've been history."

~Two days back~

"Happy birthday Kira!" Exclaimed Luca. He was happy his older sister had just turned 18. The age where you can finally become alpha and the age where you find your mate.

Younger brother William snuggled into his sister and smiled at her. "Are you happy Kitty? I got you something." He said, his adorable squeaky little voice spoke his words slowly, trying to pronounce each word carefully, making sure everyone can understand him. "So did 'uka! But we give you it later!"

"Aww thanks little baby." She cooed holding him tightly, she felt the arms of her other brother wrapping around her too as they all shared a group hug.

"Good morning children. Should've known you'd all be in here. Happy for the eventful day ahead, Kira?" Her mother spoke, her exotic tongue rolling the r. Kira nodded with a small smile. She was going to find her mate today, she was determined to. She was going to become alpha in a few days if she does and she hopes she can do a lot of good things for her pack. It all seems like a big step to climb but this is what her father had been training her for.

He has taught her patience, kindness, fairness, love, positivity, joy, peace, mildness and self control, all qualities a good leader should posses. And that is what she strives to be, a good leader.

She got ready and pulled on a pair of skinny jeans along with her favorite black knitted sweater that slipped pass her fingers making sweater paws. She slipped on her brown ankle boots and got ready for the day. She was gonna meet the love of her life after all.

You see, Kira and her family are werewolves, if you haven't yet noticed. They live in a world where the supernatural exist. Mermaids, witches, vampires, werewolves, angels, demons, fairies, shapeshifter's and all the things humans think are fake. Humans. Only little know the scary reality of what lurks in the darkness and deep in the vast woods, they know the people who look normal but are far from it. Humans for centuries told stories about these creatures, speaking of them in ways that scare the children, or make them even more intrigued.

The supernatural keep away from humans most of the time. Living in abandoned places or never staying in one place for too long.

Mates are very important to the supernatural, weather being part fish or having wings, each person has their specific mate, a person who completes them. A person they can't live without. Heck even humans have souls mates. Yet most of them fail to find their other half and marry someone who they assume is their significant other.

Humans find their souls mate at any age. The supernatural are quiet different. Vampires find their mates at the age of 16 going no older than 18, in human years of course. Werewolves find their mates at the age of 18 and no older than 20.
Mermaids find their mates at the age of 14 and going no older than 15 without a mate. Angels and demons both find their mates at the age of 20. Fairies don't find their mates until their 19 birthday.

And today is her day.

Kira soon found herself eating breakfast with her family who bid her a happy day and spoke about their day.
"William and I are going hunting." Spoke their mother. She was tall, being only 32, in human years, she had strait black hair and piercing green eyes. She had tanned skin and a beautiful dimpled smile.

Father was blonde, having both boys take after him with his deep blue eyes and tall slender figure, he's only 33. Much older in werewolf years.

Kira looked much like her mother, jet black hair, hazel green eyes and cherry red lips to go along with her darker skin tone.

"Father and I will be training today, he's teaching me how to fight better." 16-year-old Luca happy said as a smile etched itself on his lips.

"That's good. I guess I'll be heading around town to find my mate. How do I do it again, mother?" She spoke. Her thick eyebrows knitted together in confusion as she asked the very important question.

"Well, my darling. Just let your heart guide you. You'll know where to go once you step outside. Your feet will know exactly where to go." Replied their mother. A warm smile never leaving her lips as the memory of finding her mate replayed in her head.

"Thanks mum." Concluded Kira. She put away her dish and mentally prepared herself for the day. She made sure her clothes were well looking, her breath was minty, her hair fixed properly and her attitude positive.

She followed exactly as her mother said. She went outside and stood on the porch. She stood right before the steps, she closed her eyes and felt the brisk air nip at her skin, gooseflesh fled over her skin as she felt things starting to work itself around her. It was as if it spoke to her, she strained her werewolf ears to listen to it.

"Left." The wind spoke in a hushed like whisper. She took a sharp intake of breath before following the directions.

Left
Right
Follow ahead.
Right here.

She followed it all. Finding herself at a nearby café. There she smelt it. The intoxicating scent. The beautiful scent that only your one true love can give you. So she followed. The beautiful smell getting stronger with every step.

Soon she spotted him. The person she was to call hers. The person that souls complete her. Her other half.

As she neared him he turned to look at her. He had sniffed the perfect scent of his mate.

He was beautiful. Shaggy brown curly-ish brown hair. He had nice light blue eyes, a darker blue when it neared the iris and pupil. His lips were a bubble gum pink color, his skin milky white and perfect.
He was tall and nicely built. Not overly muscled up like a bunny on steroids but enough muscle for a werewolf.

Kira couldn't help but notice the blonde haired girl next to him. She stood dangerously close to her mate. She did not like it. The girl was also a werewolf, letting off the scent of one. But she was more focused on the perfection in front if her though.

She watched as his eyebrows furrowed and he turned his face to her. His warm blue eyes looked her up and down before turning into a icy cold glare. Her wolf whimpered at that, not wanting to upset her mate.

"What are you doing here?" The blonde girl spat. Her platinum blonde hair strewn over her shoulders covering her shoulders a little. She wore the most revealing outfit Kira had ever seen. Standing next to her Kira probably would've looked like some kind of nun.

"I'm Kira Harris of the Blood-" she was rudely cut off by the annoyingly high pitched voice.

"I asked what are you doing here. Not your biography." She snapped, her cold, snakelike eyes narrowing at her.

"Well if you must know, I am here for my mate." Kira replied calmly. Her eyes flickered over to the boy. His blue eyes widened. His heartbeat becoming louder and faster.

"Mate?! Ok look you little dog. You are gonna walk out of here without my boyfriend. Mate or no mate he's mine. Nobody wants a sick beta like you anyway. He'd much prefer an alpha like me." She hissed at her. In a way she just dissed herself by calling Kira a dog. By her attitude and clothing choice Kira could not have told that she was alpha, or blood alpha.

"But he's my-" She was cut off again. Her head was snapped to the side feeling the stinging sensation on her skin, it became bright red before it healed. Her heart pounded faster as her wolf started to howl. She touched the brurning skin and whimpered a bit, the first time he touches her and it's a slap.

"I, Spencer Anderson, reject you, Kira Harris as my mate." He bitterly sneered. His eyes still icy. The blonde girl turned to her with a smirk. "Now get out of my eyesight, beta."

"It's back to the pound for you doggy." The blonde sniggered pulling the boy in for a kiss. She could feel her heart break in half at the sight. Her mate- ex mate, kissing another girl.

Her body felt weak and her chest felt as if it was on fire all at once. She stumbled out of the café. She heard her heartbeat in her ear, it pounded harder and louder. Her breathing picked up and became irregular as the pain in her chest grew more unbearable. Her head pounded as she headed down to street.

Her feet carried her to the forest edge, she let go of herself and ran into the woods. Tears brimmed at he eyes and threatened to spill.

She looked to her right, a tiny fairy couple danced together, both moving gracefully as their held each other close. I'll never have that.

She continued running until she reached bank of a deep pond, she looked deep inside watching a mermaid rub her nose lovingly against the merman's. The tears began to fall as the the pain grew more and more.

Finally she fell to he knees clawing at her clothing, everything hurt. Even the touch of her clothing on her skin. Her nails extended and began ripping at the fabric, tearing at the skin and feeling the wounds quick to heal. Her heart wasn't healing though, she felt herself giving up.

Her body began to shift as her wolf began to take over.

She let out a loud ear piercing, high pitched scream, it startled every living creature in the woods. It turned into a loud howl of pain that echoed through the forest. Birds swarmed and all animals went into hiding hearing the powerful howl of an blood alpha.

She let her wolf body fall to the ground, exhausted and hurt.

The last thing she saw was a cascade of fairies surrounding her with their fairy dust being sprinkled on her midnight blue fur coat.
